APC condemns call for Abubakar’s impeachment

24 May 2016, 19:34

Bauchi -  The All Progressive Congress in Bauchi State (APC) has condemned those calling on the state House of Assembly to impeach the state governor, Muhammed Abubakar, reports National Mirror.

The party accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being behind the people championing the impeachment move.

The APC said the move was to ridicule the APC and those elected under its folds..

The APC in a statement by the state Publicity Secretary, Auwal Aliyu maintained that the state assembly and APC as a party have absolute and unflinching confidence and support in the governor’s ability to take the state out of past challenges brought about by PDP reign.

Daily Post reports that a cross section of APC members in the state had on Wednesday called on the State House of Assembly to start impeachment process against the governor.

According to them, for Bauchi to progress, the current government must sit up or be shown the way out.

They noted that the governor has no tangible achievement to justify the people’s mandate, other than insulting the intelligence of the people through rude propaganda on local media outfits.
