Port Harcourt - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has denied any involvement in an alleged plot to rig the House of Assembly rerun elections in the state.
Governor Nyesom Wike had onTuesday said he uncovered plans, allegedly made by some chieftains of the APC, to connive with some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to falsify the results of the upcoming legislative rerun.

The APC in a press statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said the allegation of the governor was untrue.
It said that APC had no plan to manipulate the result of the planned election.
The statement read in parts: “It’s important to re-state here that Dr. Dawari George is the APC candidate for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency in the forthcoming rerun elections and does not work in INEC.”
