APC describes Gov Mimiko as apostle of do-or-die politics

08 April 2016, 21:42

Akure -  The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Thursday described a statement by Governor Olusegun Mimiko asking President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct free and credible elections as “ironic and laughable”

Its Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, alleged that the governor has never won a poll conducted credibly.

He said: “Mimiko has no moral right to talk about credible election when he is the leader of do-or-die politics.

“Buhari has always supported credible elections and championed the campaign for free and fair election in the country.

“Mimiko has no moral uprightness to demand free and credible election.

“He is an exponent of the opposite of what he has called for. Nigerians have not forgotten how Mimiko and his colleagues used undemocratic tactics to divide the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) under the leadership of Rotimi Ameachi.

“The governor led the team which claimed 16 is greater than 19. What has changed? That has damaged his democratic credentials beyond repair.”
