APC International lauds Erewa’s devotion to Diaspora

29 March 2016, 11:28Okoro Chinedu

Lagos – The All Progressives Congress (APC) International Secretariat has appealed to Abike Dabiri Erewa, the recently-appointed Senior Special Assistant to the President Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, to implement issues Nigerians abroad were advocating for.

The United States-based organisation was hopeful Erewa, appointed in February, would assist in that regard, saying her appointment was in furtherance of her selfless services to humanities and a continuation of her goodwill towards the Diaspora.

“The appointment came at a better time for you to complete all pending diaspora issues which are well known to you,” APC International Coordinator, Francis John, said from Kansas City, Missouri.

He said Nigerians in America were eager to work with the Jos, Plateau State-born Erewa.

Among issues APC International want addressed include enabling the Diaspora voting by 2019, improvement on $21 billion Diaspora yearly remittance and facilitate the representation of Diaspora in the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

“All these and many more will make your tenure in office the most successful,” said John.
