Abuja - The meeting between the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and some members of the House of Representatives, including Speaker Dogara to broker a truce on the ongoing budget padding scandal failed to hold on Thursday, reports Daily Trust.
Thursday's meeting was supposed to have been a follow up to similar ones held last week Tuesday, reports News 24
The leaders had on Tuesday met separately with the Speaker and former Chairman of Appropriation Committee, Abdulmumin Jibrin, whose allegations over illegal budget alterations sparked the crisis.

Since the scandal broke out, members of the APC in House have been divided.
The party had on Wednesday summoned a meeting with members of the Transparency Group and the Integrity Group, which emerged after the allegations of corruption in the budget leveled against Dogara by Jibrin.
The meeting, however, didn't hold as planned.
No reason was given for the cancellation.
