APC moves against Senator Shehu Sani

23 December 2015, 10:35

Kaduna - The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has concluded plans to suspend the Senator representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani from the party over the unresolved rift between him and Gov Nasir El-Rufai, PM News

The party had sent a letter to Senator Sani inviting him to appear within seven days before a disciplinary committee set up by the party’s state acting Chairman, Shuaibu Idris to clear himself over what the party termed “anti party stand” of the senator.

Sani, however, refused to accept the letter.

Expressing displeasure with the action of Sani ,Kaduna APC spokesman, Salisu Tanko Wusono, urged Senator Sani to appear before the committee within the stipulated seven days or face the wrath of the party.

Sani’s senior assistant, Political and Ideology, Suleiman Ahmed said the letter was rejected on grounds that the senator neither knows the person who signed the letter nor the party's office address.

He said he was not notified about the APC new state chairman and secretary and would not respond to their invitation.

He noted that the two officers are mere extensions of government house and accused Gov. El-Rufai of sponsoring them to suspend him out of fear of his overwhelming popularity and performance.
