APC Reps sue Dogara

18 January 2016, 11:06

Abuja - A fresh round of crisis appears to be in the offing in the House of Representatives as 11 members of the House have dragged Speaker Yakubu Dogara to court over the House's new standing orders, reports New Telegraph.

Interestingly, the 11 aggrieved members belong to Dogara’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers in the suit filed at an Abuja High Court are seeking to quash some recent House rules, which they considered as repressive.

The members are praying the court to nullify the rules passed on October, 2015 and declare the rules null and void as well as unconstitutional as it contravenes the constitution.

The others are Aminu Ibrahim Malle (APC, Taraba), Sunday Adepoju (APC, Oyo), Ahmed Babba Kaita (APC, Katsina), Philip Shuaibu (APC, Edo) and Abubakar Chika Adamu (APC, Niger).
