APC senators pass vote of confidence on Buhari

Abuja - Senators under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, reports NewsDay

This comes few hours after senators from the Peoples Democratic Party’s announced that they will no longer cooperate with the APC-led federal.

The resolution was taken on Tuesday following the court summon on the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, along with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Rules, reports News 24

But the APC Senators, numbering 16 and led by the Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, said both the APC and their Labour Party colleagues had agreed to fully back Buhari.

He said they were shocked by the partisan reaction of PDP senators to the ongoing efforts to recover looted public funds meant for the prosecution of the war against insurgency.

They urged their colleagues in the PDP to rescind their decision to withdraw support for Buhari.
