Abuja - The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Thursday meet with House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara and some estranged members over the budget padding scandal rocking the House, reports Daily Trust.
Thursday’s meeting is a follow up to similar ones held last week Tuesday.
The leaders had on Tuesday met separately with the Speaker and former Chairman of Appropriation Committee, Abdulmumin Jibrin, whose allegations over illegal budget alterations sparked the crisis.
Since the scandal broke out, members of the APC in House have been divided.
While some members insisted that the Speaker has done no wrong, others are asking Dogara to step down to allow for a thorough investigation into the matter.

During Thursday's meeting, the party will try to get the Speaker and his estranged members to agree not to escalate the crisis more than it already is, as it tries to find a way to end the squabbles.
It was further learnt that the party still feels embarrassed about the happenings and wants to act fast to avoid further embarrassment.
News 24 had reported that the party on Monday accepted responsibility for failing to nip in the bud the embarrassing face-off between Dogara and Abdumumini, over the 2016 budget.
The party admitted that the it has failed to handle and settle intra-party feud among his members.
