Makurdi - Hundreds of aggrieved supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State on Thursday stormed the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Makurdi to protest the declaration of David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the Benue South rerun election.
The protesters, comprising youths, ladies and women, were led by the party’s candidate in the election, Dan Onnjeh, reports NewsDay
The protesters accused officials of the commission of fraud by declaring Mark as winner of the election
The protesters, who conducted their demonstration peacefully, brandished banners and placards with the inscriptions such as “No to impunity and corruption in INEC”; ”It is not too late for INEC to reverse it’s declaration of David Mark to inconclusive election”;”Equality b4the Law! INEC Stop this Double standard”;”INEC Don’t Present certificate of return to David Mark”.

The party had earlier rejected the result of the election.
The party also suspended some of its members, who were accused of working for Mark in the election
