APGA accuses APC of plotting to rig Edo governorship election

31 August 2016, 13:53

Benin City - The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Edo State has alleged that there are indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) plans to rig the September 10 governorship election in the state.

APGA on Tuesday alleged that the APC was planning to deceive its supporter by deliberately using its logo for a rival party during the election.

A statement by the Director General of the Osaro Onaiwu Campaign Organisation, Patrick Anethua, said they had discovered that some APC members had printed and distributed documents showing the initial of the parties.

The document, which also contained the logos and voting pattern, wrongly puts the logo of APGA as that of the CPP.

Anethua said: “This is in furtherance of the overwhelming popularity and support being enjoyed by the APGA in Edo State which currently has the favour of the electorate.

“The original logo of the CPP is the human palm sign while that of the APGA is the cock sign. The general public should therefore be aware of this low esteem intrigues by the APC.”
