Adamawa - The Court of Appeal sitting in Yola has upheld the election of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwanbo as the duly elected governor of Gombe State in the last general elections, reports Leadership.
Delivering judgement in Yola on Thursday, Justice Helen Ogunwumiju ruled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate and his party were unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the election was marred with irregularities.

Ogunwumiju alongside three other justices of the appellate court dismissed the APC the appeal for lack of merit.
The APC governorship candidate, Umar Yahaya and his party had approached the court to upturn the decision of the election petition tribunal, which declared Dankwanbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the March 28 2015 governorship election.
