Bello gets certificate of return as Kogi Gov-elect on Tuesday

09 December 2015, 10:58

Lokoja - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Tuesday present certificate of return to Yahaya Bello as the new Kogi State Governor-elect, reports Vanguard.

The event will hold at the commission’s office in Lokoja, the state capital.

The event is expected to start by 2pm.

The commission had on Sunday declared Bello winner of the Kogi State governorship election.

It is not clear if Bello’s deputy in the election, James Faleke would attend the event with him.

Faleke had on Monday written his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he would not make himself available during the swearing in ceremony of the governor and his deputy in January 2016.

Faleke is insisting that he should be declared the winner of the election since he ran the election with the party’s actual candidate in the election, Abubakar Audu.

Audu died on November 22, a day after the election was held.
