Awka - The Biafra elections scheduled to hold later in the year has suffered a setback, reports NewsDay.
The appointed Chairman of the Biafra Independent National Electoral Commission (B-INEC), Rev. Samuel Aniebonam has rejected the appointment.
Rev. Aniebonam, a Catholic priest, said he was surprised that the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM could make such an appointment without seeking his approval.

He said by his vocation as a priest, he is prevented from active participation in partisan politics.
He also distanced himself from the various publications linking him with the Biafra struggle.
The Catholic priest said he has never been involved in or encouraged any act of secession or insurrection against the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He urged the public to disregard the publications as he strongly believes in the unity of Nigeria.
