Abuja - In a shocking comment, President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed not to congratulate the winner of the Bayelsa State governorship election, Gov Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reports PM News.
Giving his reason for not congratulating Dickson, Buhari said he would not follow the habit of his predecessor who was of the habit of sending congratulatory messages to winners of elections regardless of party affiliation immediately after announcement of results.

Governor Dickson was recently re-elected for a second term after defeating Timipre Slyva of All Progressives Congress, APC, the party of President Buhari.
Buhari spoke on Monday through the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
Mohammed noted that the President never sent any congratulatory message to the APC candidate, Yahaya Bello,who was also victorious in Kogi State gubernatorial election.
Mohammed stated that what would happen if the outcome of the election was upturned by a court.
He said Buhari believes that the Presidency should be insulated from the conduct of elections and their outcomes
