Dickson’s aides, PDP chieftains in Bayelsa defect to APC

Yenagoa - Members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aides of Governor Seriake Dickson and about 2 000 PDP supporters on Monday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, reports Punch.

The defecting aides and the PDP faithful declared for the APC during the kick-off campaign of the party’s governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva.

The SWC members are the Assistant Secretary, Ben Oliver, the Assistant Organising Secretary, Miriam Kingsley and an ex-officio member, Diepreye Alagha.

The special advisers to Dickson that jumped unto the APC train on Monday were Oberiaghakuma Yossou and Ayobeya James.

The defectors were received by the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun and Sylva.

Present at the kick-off campaign were the former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Buba Marwa, former Governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni, Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and  former acting Governor of the state, Nestor Binabo.
