Abuja - The one-month vacation approved for the National Chairman the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun has become a source of friction within the party, reports Daily Trust.
The vacation, which is alien to Nigeria’s political history, is said to be a way to provide a soft-landing for the APC National Chairman so as to end the internal strife in the party.

The party has been struggling to unite its members since it won the 2015 general elections.
The emergence of Saraki and Dogara as Senate President and Speaker respectively against the preferred candidates of the party further worsened the division within the party.
Oyegun was accused of not managing the crisis very well.
During Wednesday’s meeting of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo with party chieftains, Oyegun’s case was discussed.
The absence of the APC National Chairman at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja further fueled the rumours in party circles that he is being eased out.
