Benin City - Governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and his supporters on Sunday escaped death when armed men reportedly opened fire on them at Sobe, Owan West Local Council Area of Edo State while on campaign.
One of the gunmen was said to have brought out a gun and shot at the venue where Obaseki was about to address the APC delegates.

Some youths from the area were, however, said to have pursued the suspected thugs and arrested them with guns.
Obaseki expressed shock, saying he had to cancel the event because of the shooting.
The attack is coming days after the convoy of Edo State Deputy Pius Odubu was attacked in Auchi, in Etsako West Local Council Area of the state
