Benin City - The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lashed at Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, following alleged threats he would influence the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to arrest Osagie Ize-Iyamu, its candidate in the governorship elections.
PDP Edo spokesperson, Dayo Adeyeye, bemoaned the “despicable” and “uncouth” language used by the governor against Ize-Iyamu, which he said was clearly unbecoming of the holder of the office of governor of a state.

“When a governor speaks like a garage boy, he is inviting the public to treat him as one,” said Adeyeye.
He called on the EFCC to demonstrate they were not a lap dog of the All Progressives Congress and its leaders by distancing itself from the “unguided” utterances of Oshimhole.
“They must show clearly that they do not take instructions from the powers that be, otherwise, the entire anti-corruption war will lose all credibility,” Adeyeye said.
The elections in the inland state are scheduled for September 10.
