Yenagoa - Most ex-militant leaders in Bayelsa State on Monday failed to honour the invitation by the state command of the Nigeria Police to attend a meeting ahead of the re-run election in Southern Ijaw Local Government and 101 units in Ekeremor, Sagbama, Ogbia and Nembe, reports Sun.
Although, the meeting was considered mandatory by the police command, a source at the meeting confirmed that only two ex-militant leaders attended the session held behind closed doors.

The two are believed to be sympathetic to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The absence of the ex-militants was said to have jolted the Commissioner of Police in the state.
The spokesman of the state Police Command, Astimin Butwat, however, said discussions during the meeting were fruitful.
