Fayose denies eyeing Buhari’s job in 2019

04 April 2016, 09:45

Lagos - Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has ruled himself out of the campaign for a joint presidential ticket with the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff in the 2019 presidential election.

Fayose said he is not interested in being the President or Vice President of the country.

Fayose, who spoke in Lagos on Sunday made it clear that he would never support any presidential move by Sheriff, adding that if the PDP chairman has such dream he should jettison it forthwith.

He also ruled himself out of a senatorial ticket when his tenure expires in 2018.

He stated that those mounting pressures on him to seek for another elective post in 2019 are just wasting their time, noting that the pressure would be an exercise in futility as he would not contest for another position in 2019.
