Abuja - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Adamu Candido as winner of the chairmanship election in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
With the addition of results of the supplementary elections held on Wednesday, he polled 27 482 votes to beat Bitrus Tanko Kura of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 21 965.

The area council returning officer, Prof. Sunday E. Ododo declared the results on Thursday morning.
Ododo had on Sunday declared the election inconclusive because the total number of cancelled votes cast was more than the margin between the two leading political parties.
