Gov Bello denies report of crisis in Kogi State House of Assembly

30 March 2016, 18:22

Abuja - Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has debunked claims that the state House of Assembly as well as the entire state were in crises.

Bello spoke on Wednesday shortly after meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said the House of Assembly is sitting and all legislative works are ongoing.

Bello’s remarks follows reports that the State House of Assembly has been in crises for the past three months due to leadership tussle.

The crisis assumed a new dimension when the National Assembly took over the functions of the Assembly and ordered the Inspector General pf Police, Solomon Arase to seal the assembly complex.

But Bello said the House is still sitting and there is absolute peace in the state.

He denied that the assembly complex has been sealed as legislative works are ongoing.
