Umuahia - Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has warned against the alleged plan to swear in Dr. Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the new governor of the state based on last Thursday’s Appeal Court verdict that declared Otti as the winner of the governorship election held in the state, reports Guardian.
The court had in its ruling ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue Otti with his certificate of return.

Ikpeazu had, however, after the judgement was delivered vowed to challenge the judgement in the Supreme Court.
Abia State Commissioner of Information Bonnie Iwuoha, who raised the alarm over the alleged plot to swear- in Otti on Monday, warned those planning the illegal swearing to desist as such an act will be stoutly resisted by the people.
He noted that no one will be allowed to take steps to disrupt the peace in the state.
