INEC approves 15 Standing Committees

Abuja - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved fifteen Standing Committees to supervise its activities, reports Thisday.

The setting up of the committees follows the appointment of a new Chairman for the commission and five other National Commissioners.

The committees are: Appointment, Promotion and Discipline Committee (APDC); Board of Survey and Technical Committee on Equipment Acquisition (BOSTEAC); Electoral Operations and Logistics Committee (EOLC); Board of Electoral Institute (BEI); Election and Party Monitoring Committee (EPMC); Outreach and Partnership Committee (OPC) and Estate, Works and Transport Committee (EWTC).

Others are: Legal Services and Clearance Committee (LS&CC); Tenders Board (TB); Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC); Finance and General Purpose Committee (FGPC); Information Technology and Voter Registry Committee (IT&VRC); Security Committee (SC); Planning, Monitoring and Strategy Committee (PMSC)and Health and Welfare Committee (H&WC).

The chairmanship and membership of the committees were distributed among the INEC National Commissioners.
