INEC bars APC from Kogi east, central senatorial rerun elections

Lokoja - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has barred the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) from participating in the senate rerun elections in Kogi East and Central senatorial districts,, reports Daily Trust.

The party is also excluded in the rerun elections in Okene/Ogorimagogo Federal Constituency and Ofu/Ankpa1 State Constituency.

INEC’s decision was revealed on Thursday by the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Halilu Pai.

He explained that the exclusion of APC from the rerun election was in compliance with the dictates of the ruling of the court, which had particularly ordered that APC and its candidates should not be part of the rerun poll.

Rerun elections will hold in the three senatorial districts in the state on February 20.
