Makurdi - The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared former Senate President, David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of Saturday's Benue South Senatorial District rerun election.
Mark scored a total of 84 192 while his main challenger, Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 71 621 votes.
Mark won in five local government areas while Onjeh won in four.
The result was declared by the Returning Officer for the election, Prof.Ishaku Enigi

Enigi gave the breakdown of the election as follows:
Registered Voters: 522 713
Accredited Voters: 165 093
Total Vote cast: 159 557
Cancelled Votes: 29 273
Rejected Votes: 3 744
APC: 71 621
PDP: 84 192
