Lokoja - Ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll in Kogi State, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof.Mahmood Yakubu and some high ranking staff of INEC will on Tuesday temporarily relocate to the state, reports Sun.
Prof Yakubu’s relocation is to ensure a free and fair election in his first litmus test exercise as Chairman of the commission.
Yakubu on arrival in the state is expected to hold an interactive session with all the stakeholders comprising the political parties, candidates, traditional rulers, all civil societies and non-governmental organisations in the state.

Yakubu has denied report that INEC is planning to rig the election in favour of a political party, saying the commission will up- hold the sanctity of elections.
22 candidates have been cleared to contest the election.
