Jimoh Ibrahim drags Makarfi, others to court

Abuja - Ondo State governorship candidate of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Jimoh Ibrahim has dragged the  Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the party to court, reports Sun.

Ibrahim is seeking the nullification of the governorship primary in the state, which produced former Attorney General of the State, Eyitayo Jegede as the party’s candidate.

Ibrahin is also asking the court to restrain the caretaker committee from sponsoring any candidate for election into its offices or holding any State Congress, Primaries, Conference in Ondo State in whatsoever name for the purpose of electing any candidate for the PDP.

Joined in the suit were Dayo Adeyeye, Aisha Aliyu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC had on Tuesday disowned the party's governorship primary organised by the Sheriff’s faction, reports News 24

The commission said it stands by the candidate produced by the Makarfi-led PDP National Caretaker Committee.
