04 August 2016, 17:27

Abuja - The Group Managing Director of Energy Group, Jimoh Ibrahim, on Thursday obtained the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ondo State governorship election, reports Punch.

Ibrahim by the move, became the first aspirant to pick the form.

He obtained the form from the factional National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

While speaking at the occasion, Ibrahim berated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for recognising the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

He said Makarfi has no locus in law to lay claim to the chairmanship of the party.

Ibrahim promised to pay the arrears of the state’s workers salary within his first 100 days in office.

He said governors owing workers salary lacked initiative, adding that he is not owing any worker in his employ.

News 24 checks, however, revealed that Ibrahim is owing workers in his companies.

Workers in his media companies, National Mirror and Newswatch are owed between five months and 16 months salaries.

He recently shut down the Daily edition of Newswatch following agitation by the workers for their pay.

Those told to go are yet to receive their outstanding salaries and entitlements.
