Jimoh Ibrahim's name missing on INEC's final list

25 October 2016, 10:31

Akure - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of the candidates participating in the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.

On the list, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) is seen as the flag-bearer for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Conspicuously, the names of Jimoh Ibrahim and Olusola Oke were omitted from the final list released by the commission.

Ibrahim is the factional candidate of the PDP while Oke is the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD)

News 24 recalls that a Federal High Court had ordered INEC to recognize Ibrahim as the PDP candidate in the Ondo election.

Ibrahim had on Sunday accused an INEC official of demanding $1 million bribe from him before his name can be accepted

Oke, who defected to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) after the controversial APC primary election also suffers similar fate as Ibrahim.

On the list, Akin Enoch Zerubabel Olowookere and his 72-year old running mate, Yahaya Ipinloju were listed.
