Jonathan, IBB, Mark, others shun PDP confab

Abuja - Notable members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were absent at the party’s national conference to strategise on how to wrests power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, reports National Mirror.

Conspicuously absent were former President Goodluck Jonathan, his vice, Namadi Sambo, former military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida and former Vice President Alex Ekwueme.

Former Senate Presidents Ken Nnamani, Pius Anyim, David Mark as well as Adamu Corona also boycotted the parley, which has as its theme: “PDP and the Sustenance of Democratic Ideals in Nigeria.

No reason was advanced for their absence apart from Ibrahim Babangida who had earlier declined the invitation on ground of age.

The occasion was, however, attended massively by PDP members that comprised of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, state governors, former PDP state governors, ministers, senators and thousands of their party supporters.
