Abuja - Loyalists of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have kicked against the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket in 2019 to the North, reports The Nation.
The zoning arrangement has foreclosed the return of Jonathan as the party’s presidential flag bearer in 2019.

The loyalists accused the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) of coming up with the arrangement in order to edge out Jonathan from the race in 2019.
They noted that NWC announced the zoning to enable most of its members retain their posts in the March 2016 National Convention.
The loyalists are unhappy with the NWC for allegedly backstabbing the former President.
