Yenagoa - Traditional rulers and chiefs from former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa State have dumped their son and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports Punch.
The chiefs on Saturday declared their support for the APC’s governorship candidate in the state, Timipre Sylva.
Sylva, a former governor, had taken his campaign train to Jonathan’s LGA to canvass support for his governorship ambition ahead of the December 5 poll in the state.
The chiefs after receiving Sylva referred to him as the governor-elect and the incoming governor.
Speaking on behalf of the other chiefs at the reception in honour of Sylva, King G. O. Lawson, said the people saw in the former governor, another opportunity to develop Ogbia Kingdom.
They assured Sylva of their total support to actualise his dream.
