Yenagoa - Few days to the rescheduled governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, political associates of former President Goodluck Jonathan have allegedly dump the incumbent governor, Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reports Vanguard.
They have pitched their tents with Timipre Sylva, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the January 9 poll.
It was gathered that the former President and his wife, Patience have directed their allies to mobilize support for Sylva in the rerun election.

This follows a peace meeting brokered by the former First Lady between Sylva and a former militant leader, Ateke Tom.
The meeting was said to have been held behind closed doors on new year’s day in the Port Harcourt palatial home of Tom.
During the meeting, Jonathan allegedly persuaded the ex-militant leader to ensure that Sylva wins the Southern Ijaw election with a landslide.
Dickson is currently leading Sylva in the election with over 33 000 votes.
