Kogi APC faction dissociates self from vote of no confidence on lawmaker

Lokoja - A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has dissociated itself from the crisis rocking the party in the state.

Another faction of the party in the state has suspended the member representing Kogi/Koton-Karfe Constituency in the state assembly, Muhammed Zakari Osewu over anti-party activities. 

But the faction comprising of Kogi APC Restoration Alert, APC Integrity Group and Unity Vanguard said the suspension cannot stand.

At an emergency meeting in Lokoja, the state capital on Monday,  the faction said its  position was as a result of the lawmaker’s commitment to speedily taking the area to enviable heights.

In a statement jointly signed by the president of Unity Vanguard, Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim and secretary of Kogi Restoration Alert, Usman Abubakar Babaohi, the groups posited that those threatening to recall the lawmaker are working against the interest of the people of the constituency.

The groups alleged that the state governor, Yahaya Bello, was after the lawmakers who has refused to dance to his tunes
