Lawal stated this shortly after meeting with the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP0, Ali Modu Sheriff.

He said he was aware of the agitation that the Speaker and the governor should not come from the same senatorial district.

Lawal’s position which was conveyed by the Majority Leader of the House, Kolawole Olusola Mathew,, said he was ready to resign if the right thing was done.

He noted that if for any reason the House wants him to resign, he will resign but the whole House must sit and agree.
