Asaba - The Labour Party (LP) and Accord Party (AP) in Delta State are set to merge with the All Progressives Congress (APC)in the state.
Talks by the steering committees setup by the parties were already in advanced stage.
The move is part of efforts to reposition the APC into a more formidable platform to engage the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in future elections.

Leading the merger talks on the side of LP, is Richard Odibo, a frontline leader of the party and on the APC side, Alfred Oloko, a former member of the House of Representatives.
The national leadership of the APC had been briefed about the development and had expressed happiness at the planned merger.
