Akure - Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has endorsed his Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede as the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate for the November 26 governorship election in the state, reports Today.
Mimiko's decision to support Jegede is already causing disaffection among party members in the state.
He decided to throw his weight behind Jegede because many of the aspirants are relying on the governor for financial support, reports Daily Independent
Jegede on the other hand has lots of friends in the legal profession and corporate world who have already signified interest in supporting his ambition if he gets the nod of the governor.
However, despite the governor’s endorsement of Jegede, some members of his cabinet and other aspirants in the PDP are undaunted and have decided to go ahead with their ambition.
