16 November 2015, 17:11

Akure - The newly appointed Minister of State for Niger Delta, Prof Claudius Daramola on Saturday shunned a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, reports Thisday.

The leaders of the party in the state led by its chairman, Isaac Kekemeke, including all the Local Government Chairmen, had waited for hours for the arrival of Daramola, who is from the state, but he did not show up.

The minister, it was learnt had initiated the meeting.

Visibly angry party members were later dispersed at about 4pm by the Vice Chairman of the party in the state, Ade Adetimehin after all efforts to reach the minister proved abortive as he was said to have switched off all his phones.

The meeting was organised to serve as an avenue for the minister to reach out to the members since his candidacy was not supported by majority at the initial stage.

Journalists, who were also invited to cover the event, were also forced to leave the venue after waiting for several hours.
