Minna - Local government chairmen in Niger State have denied threatening to resign over lack of funds.
The chairmen said their purported resignation in the media was meant to sow seeds of discord and set the Chairmen on a warpath with Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.

Tanko Garba Kagara, Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state, said they were prepared to serve the people.
Kagara stated that the group has no problem with the government and its confidence in the leadership of Governor Bello remains unshaken.
There were rumours that the Council Chairmen threatened to resign, following the non-release of funds to run the local governments.
