Okorocha accuses PDP of insulting South-east with VP position

19 April 2016, 11:23

Owerri - Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of insulting the South-east by zoning the position of Vice President in 2019 to the zone.

He wondered why the party did not consider it worthwhile to zone the Presidency position to the area.

The leadership of the party has proposed zoning the positions of President and Vice President to the North and South-east, respectively.

But the governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, on Monday, said it was unfortunate that the South-east was never remembered by the PDP during the party’s 16 years in power.

Okorocha, who said the vice-presidential ticket was a bait by the opposition party to deceived the people of the region, added that the people of the region could see beyond the bait.

He added that in terms of projects, the South-east also had a very rough experience in the PDP government.
