Omisore disowns PDP emissaries to Ooni

11 July 2016, 17:53

Osogbo - The embattled former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has disowned members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, reports Punch

The PDP members, who were led by the Chairman of the party in Osun State, Soji Adagunodo  had visited the monarch to solicit for his assistance in helping Omisore get out of the detention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Omisore was arrested on July 4 as part of investigation into a case of receiving and misappropriating N700 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser, between June and November, 2014, reports News 24

Adagunodo and Omiisore belong to different camps in the party.

During the visit, the PDP members also pleaded with the monarch to forgive Omisore who has yet to visit the Ooni seven months after he was enthroned as the Ife monarch.

But Omisore in a statement by one of his close allies, Diran Odeyemi, said Adagunodo’s action was tantamount to a mockery and a pretense.

Odeyemi, who is also spokesperson for the party in the state, stated that it was logical to assume that Adagunodo group will be happy that their enemy is now out of the scene and away from their sight.

He said there is no justification for the sudden love by the Adagunodo's camp for a man the group so much hate while in freedom.
