Ondo APC governorship primary election to be held in military barracks

24 August 2016, 09:50

Akure - There are indications that the All Progressive Congress may hold the Ondo state governorship primary election in a military base, reports Naij.

The exercise is slated for Saturday, August 27.

There are fears within the ranks of the party that the process might be taken over by violence if it holds in an open field.

The party leaders feel that the only way to forestall violence is to move the election to a military barrack where maximum security can be assured.

The military base being proposed by the party leaders is the Army Barracks along Ondo road.

The state Chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke was removed because of this accusation, reports News 24

Members of the party also engaged each other in a gunfight following Kekemeke's removal.
