Ondo LP chairman resigns

02 August 2016, 20:00

Akure - The Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, in Ondo state, Kolawole Johnson, has resigned his position.

His letter of resignation addressed to the national chairman of the party, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam reads in part: “It has been a great privilege serving the party for almost two years as the state chairman.

“It is therefore with great gratitude and a sense of strong character, which determines moral purpose and set of things we choose or avoid, that I tender my resignation letter today.

“The lessons, challenges and successes have further prepared me to continue to serve the public in truth and absolute loyalty to the good of the generality of the people, which are the core ethos of the party.”

Indications had emerged at the weekend that the Ondo state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, is plotting to hijack the structure of the party ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
