Akure - The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has reiterated its readiness to conduct a free and fair local government election scheduled to hold on April 23.
The Commission also assured electorates in the state of adequate safety of their properties during and after the forthcoming council poll.

Prof. Gbenga Ige, Chairman of the commission, who disclosed this on Wednesday to journalists in Akure, added that 10 000 ad hoc staff would be trained for the smooth conduct of the exercises.
Ige said the commission has mapped out strategy that would help ensure the voters in the State exercise their franchise without entertaining any fear during the local government election.
