#OndoDecides: APC jealous of our crowd says AD

17 November 2016, 13:23

Abuja - The Alliance for Democracy has berated the All Progressives Congress for saying it uses rented crowds at its rallies.

The APC had last week accused the AD candidate, Dr. Olusola Oke, of renting a crowd at his rally.

However the National Publicity Secretary of the AD,  Nola Olayinka, described the allegation as laughable.

In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, she argued that their rivals were intimidated by the rising popularity of its candidate and his overwhelming acceptance by the good people of Ondo State who are determined to elect him as their next governor come November 26.

"AD is a party that is rooted in the South-West and nationally as home for all progressive-minded individuals who are seeking for change in governance and their lots in life.

The mammoth crowd supporting the party in Ondo State was a product of the goodwill their candidate enjoyed in the state and the hard work of both party members and the executive.

“We are amazed at a statement reported in the media that our great party rented and paid the crowds that have been supporting us in Ondo State. This claim must be the figment of the imagination of our political rivals who are flabbergasted by the massive support and goodwill we enjoy in the state.

“We are however using this medium to call on all our supporters not to be deterred by the blackmail but to continue to work for the party through their door-to-door approach aimed at appealing to the grassroots to vote Dr Olusola Oke as the next governor.”

She expressed optimism that the AD would be victorious and that it would fulfill all its electoral promises to the good people of Ondo State.
