Ortom, Benue senators meet Buhari over appointments

Abuja - Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Thursday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, reports The Nation.

Ortom visited Buhari to solicit for more appointments of people from the state into federal positions.

Ortom was accompanied on the visit by two senators from the state, George Akume and Banabas Gemade.

Addressing State House correspondents, Ortom said Benue people overwhelmingly voted for the President in the March 28 election and needed to be given a sense of belonging.

While thanking Buhari for appointing one of Benue sons, Audu Ogbe, as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the governor said more people from the state should be considered in the next federal appointments.
