PDP accuses APC of planning to kill its leaders

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the lives of the key leaders of the party are under severe threat, reports Premium Times.

The party accused the ruling All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government of being behind the plot.

The party declared that should anything happen to its members, including being poisoned or attacked by robbers, the APC would be held responsible.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh listed some of those the party alleges were marked for death to include the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu; acting National Chairman of the party Uche Secondus; acting National Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Halliru Bello. 

Others according to Metuh, include the Senate Minority Leader, Sen Godswill Akpabio; the Minority Leader in House of Representatives, Leo Ogor among others.

Metuh, who addressed a press conference over the alleged assassination of Ekweremadu, said the party had information that some marks men had been recruited from within and outside the country.
