PDP berates APC over campaign promises

Abuja - The People Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for not keeping to its election promises six months after assuming the presidency, reports Thisday

The party noted that so far no campaign promise made by the present APC administration has been kept.

Speaking at the party’s national conference on Thursday in Abuja, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremmadu, challenged the APC to name at least one of its election campaign promises that it has fulfilled.

He listed some of the campaign promises that have not been fulfilled to include; free education and free meals for school children, the release of the Chibok girls, payment of N5 000 to unemployed youths and the scaling up of the exchange rate of the Nara and bring it at par with the US dollar.

He also faulted the management of the economy since May 2015, saying the country lacked economic direction.
